- Force Majeure
Katie understands the value of close relationships and how they help people work together. Those relationships are what make her such a fierce advocate for her clients. Working together, Katie helps them identify what they want to achieve and how she can help accomplish those outcomes. Their goals become her goals. Katie advocates aggressively, and her results reflect that.
Katie’s practice is focused on litigation, stepping in when business relationships for one reason or another go awry. Katie often gets involved pre-suit to help investigate potential claims or attempt to resolve disputes before someone gets to the courthouse. If litigation arises, Katie tenaciously represents her clients’ interests to trial and appeal, if necessary. In addition to handling general business and financial services litigation, Katie handles construction litigation. She represents owners and developers in claims against contractors, architects, and engineers, and she also represents contractors in filing and enforcing mechanic’s liens and defending claims. She has experience with investigating and litigating design and construction defect claims and delay claims.
When asked how she approaches her work, Katie says, “It’s simple—we treat each client like it is our only one. No one gets lost in the shuffle.”
In addition to her legal work, Katie currently serves on the Board of the St. Thomas More Society and on the Advisory Board for Rainbow Days, Inc., a Dallas-based charity that helps children all over the country overcome adversity and have promising futures.
