Commercial and Labor and Employment Litigator Amy M. Stewart Joins Firm

Estes Okon Thorne & Carr is pleased to announce the addition of Amy M. Stewart as a partner in Dallas.
Ms. Stewart brings a wide range of commercial litigation experience to the firm, including handling cases involving breach of fiduciary duties, contract damages, negligence, property damages, and personal injury claims. Further, Ms. Stewart has handled employment-related litigation matters, including handling internal investigations and representing clients in wrongful termination arbitrations. Her clients range from Fortune 500 companies to medium and small businesses, insurers, food manufacturing companies, major retailers, manufacturers, and property owners.
Ms. Stewart’s experience outside the courtroom has helped to shape her approach to building lasting client relationships. As a former assistant women’s basketball coach at her alma mater, Wake Forest University, and also at Tulane University, Ms. Stewart understands the importance of creating lasting relationships with clients built on trust, teamwork, shared goals, and open and honest communication.

Ms. Stewart earned her law degree from the University of Missouri in 2006, where she served as Associate Editor of the Law Review. In 1994, she graduated from Wake Forest University, where she was a member and captain of the women’s basketball team. She returned to coach at her alma mater in 1996.
Ms. Stewart has been an active speaker with the State Bar of Texas and American Bar Association. Currently, she serves as the Co-Chair of the ABA Section of Litigation Business Torts and Unfair Competition Subcommittee, and is a member of the State Bar of Texas Litigation Council. In addition, she is a member of the 2014 class of Leadership America, the longest running national women’s leadership development program in the U.S.
